Benedict XVI's last days as Pope

(Romereports.com) The world watched closely as Benedict XVI's pontificate came to a close. Day after day, crowds came to thank him for his eight year pontificate, recognizing that it was history in the making.   

Vatican employees said farewell not only to the Pope and Head of State, but also to their boss. With the attention of the worldwide media, the 85 year old Pope, boarded a helicopter, making his way to the Italian province of Castel Gandolfo. Before a cheering crowd, he explained  that his new role was that of a simple Christian pilgrim, who would always be united with the Church through prayer.
