February 9, 2010. Benedict XVI is getting ready to sign a special document that he says will prevent child molestation cases within the Church and would punish those who commit those crimes.
But for the moment the pope has vowed to continue working to protect the rights of children and has once again condemned people of the Church who have been involved in sexual abuse cases.
Pope Benedict XVI made the statements during a meeting with the Pontifical Council for the Family, the department is in charge of raising awareness of the fundamental importance of the family for the life of the Church and society
Benedict XVI “Your work reminds society the benefits the family brings to society, to its cohesion and its development.”
Currently the council is getting ready to publish a guide intended to prepare young people for marriage.
Benedict XVI recalled that preparation begins in adolescence, when parents teach children to understand life as a vocation to love. According to Benedict XVI parents should stress the meaning of sexuality should be integrated into authentic love.
Then while dating another type of training is needed.
Benedict XVI “It is important to take particular care that on these occasions the fiancées revive their personal relationship with the Lord Jesus, especially by listening to the Word of God, using the Sacraments and, above all, by participating in the Eucharist.”
The pope also stressed the formation engaged couples received during the months leading up to the wedding ceremony.
Benedict XVI also talked about children’s care. He recalled that kids need to feel loved and respected by both a father and mother who love each other. He added that the best way to protect children’s rights is by supportive parents who form a stable family.
