August 22, 2010. The 'Camino de Santiago', the 750 km pilgrimage road to the Spanish town of Santiago de Compostela, welcomes thousands of pilgrims each year.
There’s a new way to avoid getting lost on the route thanks to the help of a GPS guide for the iPhone, Ipad and Windows Mobile phones.
They’re over 1500 hours of video describing 1,500 important points of interset for walkers: from shrines, churches and shelters to information on the flora or the history of the various sites.
With this free application, pilgrims can also calculate the distance to the next town and find out what kind of terrain to expect with the help of photos and videos.
It’s a very helpful tool available in English, Spanish and Galician, to guide pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
