'Nobel Prize' of Theology to be awarded in October by the Vatican

YoutubeJuly 20, 2012. (Romereports.com) From October 7th to the 28th the Vatican will hold a synod to talk about the New Evangelization.
 
During these same dates, another big event will take place. For the second year in a row, the so called 'Ratzinger Prize' will be awarded. The prize is described as the Nobel of Theology. It's actually given by the Vatican's Joseph Ratzinger Foundation, as a way to acknowledge the work of current researchers who through their work and studies, have enriched the faith.


Previously the award was given to Italian layman Manlio Simonetti, a former professor of Christian Literature and Patrology. Also awarded was  Spanish priest Olegario González de Cardedal, a Professor of Systematic Theology. Lastly, German monk Maximilian Heim, was also recognized.
