July 20, 2012. (Romereports.com) From
October 7th to the 28th the Vatican will hold a synod to talk about the New Evangelization.
During these same dates, another big event will take place. For the second year in a row, the so called 'Ratzinger Prize' will be awarded.
The prize is described as the Nobel of Theology. It's actually given by the
Vatican's Joseph Ratzinger Foundation, as a way to acknowledge the work of current researchers who through their work and studies, have enriched the faith.
Previously the award was given to Italian layman Manlio Simonetti, a former professor of Christian Literature and Patrology. Also awarded was Spanish priest Olegario González de Cardedal, a Professor of Systematic Theology. Lastly,
German monk Maximilian Heim, was also recognized. OFL/KLH
