March 22, 2012. (Romereports.com) When president Obama announced that religious institutions wouldn't have
to pay directly for contraception or abortion inducing drugs, some saw
the deal as somewhat misleading.

“The so called compromise that president Obama answered is no compromise. He says we'll tell the insurance companies to pay for this, and therefore religious institutions wont' have to. But, insurance companies will turn to religious organizations because they won't give away anything for free.”The Archbishop of Miami, says the main issue at stake is religious freedom. He also disagrees with the fact that it's been described as a women's health issue. Being pregnant, he says, is not a disease.

“The president came out to announce the compromise without meeting with anybody. You usually don't have a compromises that are done unilaterally.” But there are Catholics who don't see the mandate as a major issue, but the Archbishop says, those Catholics need to see the bigger picture.

The Archdiocese of Miami is taking part in a march, precisely to promote religious liberty and to speak out against Obama's health care mandate.
