This is the most fashionable Christmas tree shop in Rome and all the proceeds go to the Vatican-administered Bambin Gesu Children's Hospital.

Fashion's most elite designers donated their creations to the Natale dei Cento Alberi Dautore or 100 designer Christmas Trees. It was the initiative of Sergio Valente that began 15 years ago.

Every year it's an incredible fantasy. Each time I'm struck by the creativity and beauty in these trees.

The Christmas trees go from the most traditional to the most bizarre but they all carry a special gift. This designer Ferragamo tree goes for 5,000 euros and it includes items from his collection.

We ask designers for a useful tree. A useful tree means that the structure of the tree has to have something. If someone works with cashmere the tree should be made of cashmere. If you design children's clothes then put some of the designs on the tree so that whoever buys it receives something they can use.

From Fendi to Cavalli these trees are the true gift of Christmas for the Bambin Gesu Children's Hospital who also contributed with their own tree dressed with the Nativity Scene.
