YoutubeRomereports.com March 30, 2010. Benedict XVI told youths at Palm Sunday mass that God helps people overcome the intimidation caused by prevalent opinion and to make themselves available to all without receiving anything in exchange.

Benedicto XVI
“He leads us to what is great and pure, He leads us to the healthy air of the heights, to a life lived according to truth, to the courage that does not allow itself to be intimidated by the chatter of dominant opinion.”

The pope also pointed out that God is the one who guides and sustains and challenges the thousands of youth present and to recognize that you can’t walk alone. According to the Pope, it’s necessary to leave obstinacy and pride to one side and to believe with the whole Church.

But he made it clear that this attitude presents difficulties.

Benedicto XVI
“We cannot achieve great results without sacrifice and hard work, just as joy for a great academic discovery”.

The Pope began the ceremony from the obelisk in St. Peter’s Square and following tradition, blessed the olive tree branches. Then, for the first time ever, he made the procession to the altar in the pope mobile. This made it easier for him to tour the square and greet pilgrims up close.
