Pope John Paul II’s image is now legal tender in Poland.

The Polish central bank has produced 2 million bank notes with the late Pontiff’s image as a collector’s item.It’s not John Paul’s first appearance on Polish currency – last June the national bank issued a series of commemorative coins in his honor.The new notes are worth 50 Zlotys – that’s about 16 U.S. Dollars.
