YoutubeMarch 24, 2010. The pope accepted the resignation letter of yet another Irish bishop who covered up sex abuse cases. Bishop John Magee, of Cloyne previously served as secretary for Paul VI, John Paul I and John Paul II.

73-year old Bishop Magee, was the first Irish bishop who turned in his resignation letter, a year ago, after the fallout of the sex abuse scandal.

He was accused of not taking action against sexual abuse cases implicating members of the clergy in Cloyne that dated back to 1987.

Now he’s once again apologizing to the sex abuse victims and has asked for forgiveness for mishandling the crisis.

He has also renewed his pledge to help authorities who are investigating child protection procedures in the diocese.
