Pope appoints Charles Scicluna, as Auxiliary Bishop of Malta

YoutubeOctober 8. 2012. (Romereports.com) Benedict XVI has appointed Monsignor Charles Scicluna, as the new Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Malta. Up until his appointment, he served as the promoter of justice within the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Scicluna is 53 years old and is from Malta. For more than 15 years he has worked in the Vatican. In the last ten years, one of his main responsibilities has been to investigate sexual abuse cases committed by priests.

Scicluna was ordained a priest in 1986. Here in Rome, he also taught Canon Law at the Gregorian University in Rome.
