September 14, 2012. (Romereports.com) At roughly 12:42 p.m, Rome time, the Pope's plane landed in Beirut's international airport. Upon arrival, the Pope greeted a group of Lebanese leaders, led by the country's president, Michel Suleiman.

In his opening speech, the president gave a speech in Arabic. The welcoming reception included civil and religious leaders from Lebanon.
