August 23, 2010. Pope Benedict XVI has called on greater sensitivity in accepting legitimate human diversity. His words came during the recitation of the Angelus at his summer residence in Castel Gandolfo.
Speaking in French, the Pope said that all men and women "are called to salvation" and he urged parents to educate their children in "universal fellowship."
The Pope's words followed recent news on the decision of French President Nicolas Sarkozy to dismantle illegal camps inhabited Gypsies and to deport them to Romania, their country of origin.
Pope Benedict also prayed for peace and that efforts may be made to "overcome the logic of violence."

Among the 4,000 pilgrims gathered for the Angelus, were a youth orchestra 'Fuoritempo', which performed briefly for the Pope.
