YoutubeFebruary 7, 2011. During Sunday's Angelus, Benedict XVI spoke on the grave situation facing Egypt and asked for prayers for the country.

Benedict XVI
“I am following the delicate situation in the dear nation of Egypt. I ask God that that land, blessed by the presence of the Holy Family, may rediscover tranquillity and peaceful coexistence, in a shared commitment for the common good.”

As Italy celebrated the Day for Life, the Pope also called for the defense of life from conception to natural death.

Benedict XVI

“I trust that everyone will work to make the culture of life grow, so as to ensure that the value of human beings remains central in all circumstances.”

He also made a special address to those working in the medical field and spend time with patients every day.

Benedict XVI
“I exhort all healthcare workers to see the sick person, not only as a frail body, but above all as a person to whom to show solidarity and to offer appropriate solutions.”

The Pope recalled that on February 11, the World Day of the Sick, is the occasion of the memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes.
