November 28, 2011. (Romereports.com) A concert was held at the Vatican by the Asturias Principality Symphony
Orchestra. It was held Saturday evening in honor of Benedict XVI in the
Vatican's Paul VI Audience Hall.
The group was directed by the Chilean conductor Maximiano Valdes and was organized by the Spanish foundation Maria Cristina Masaveu Peterson.
The concert included an international collection with pieces by the Spaniard Manuel de Falla, German Richard Strauss, and the Russian Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
Benedict XVI noted that music was a great form of communication, calling it the universal language that could cross barriers into different nations and cultures.
