May 28, 2012. (Romereports.com) (-ONLY VIDEO-) During the Mass of Pentecost, Benedict XVI entered St. Peter's Basilica and traveled down the aisle on top of a new mobile platform.

It carries the shield of his pontificate on the front, it's lined with red velvet and will be used for the processions of big ceremonies.


The first pope to use this type of transportation was his predecessor, John Paul II. Before that, popes were carried on the sedia gestatoria.
