YoutubeMarch 8, 2011. On Good Friday, April 22, the pope will make history by appearing on television to answer questions about Jesus. This will be the first time that a pope has granted a televised interview.

Benedict XVI will begin the program by speaking on the person and identity of Jesus Christ, complimenting his soon-to-be released second installment of “Jesus of Nazareth.”

Questions will be sent in by audiences and the program planners will select the three questions they believe are most important for the pope to answer.

Though the program will air on Rai 1, an Italian public television network, production of the program has been entrusted to the Vatican television office and will likely be filmed inside the Apostolic Palace.

Sources in the Vatican have said that the idea for this program came from some of the pope's closest collaborators and that this program represents Benedict's desire to explain the person of Jesus Christ to the world.
