May 24, 2012. (Romereports.com) This cross will make its way around the world. It was given to the Pope by a group of Ukrainians, as a way to mark 2,000 years since Jesus' death and Resurrection. The cross will travel to all major capitals, as a way to prepare for the anniversary and celebration in the year 2033.
Benedict XVI blessed the cross and thanked the group for promoting it.
So far, it has toured several European countries, including Ukraine,
Poland, France and Germany. In the city of Rome, it has visited four
basilicas.
In fact, back in the year 2004, John Paul II also blessed this cross.
