April 16, 2010. In a private mass, Benedict XVI said it’s necessary to “repent” and “recognize” mistakes related to the sex abuse crisis.
Before the Pontifical Biblical Commission the pope said “in light of the attacks of the world, which speaks to us of our sins” it’s necessary to be open to repentance and let ourselves be transformed.
Benedict XVI recognized this repentance as a grace, since it allows people to recognize their own sins and the need for a transformation.
