YoutubeDecember 3, 2010. Benedict XVI called on the authorities of Costa Rica to combat drug trafficking and juvenile delinquency. This came during the presentation of credentials for their new ambassador, Fernando Sánchez Felipe Campos.

The Pope called on the authorities not to make laws in favor of in vitro fertilization and abortion. Benedict XVI called for the defense of the family which is where he said that children learn respect and understanding. He noted that nothing that encourages and supports the family “will be in vain.”

The ambassador arrived with his wife and two children. The older of which gave flowers to the Pope and kissed him, with the spontaneity appropriate of his age.
