December 20, 2010. Hundreds of people gathered in St. Peter's Square to attend the Pope's Angelus, the last one before Christmas. There they enjoyed the Vatican's Christmas tree completely decorated. Benedict XVI asked priests to bring the “words and gestures of Christ” to people every day.
Benedict XVI
“To Saint Joseph, patron of the universal Church, I entrust all priests, urging them to offer 'to Christians and to the world the humility and everyday words and gestures of Christ.'”
Benedict XVI spoke of Saint Joseph and recalled that he was witness to the virginity of Mary and protected the life of Jesus.
The Pope said the “legal father of Jesus” is an image of a new man that looks “with courage and confidence toward the future” and that does not follow his own path, but trusts in God.
He also called on all Catholics to prepare internally for the birth of Jesus so that they can be filled with His peace and love.
