July 17, 2009. Benedict XVI broke his right wrist after falling Thursday night in his room. He was taken to a local hospital in Northern Italy where he’s spending his vacation.



According to the Vatican, the injury is not serious.

The pope celebrated Mass this morning normally and had breakfast. Later, he went to a hospital where they immobilized his arm and gave him a medical check-up.

Pope Benedict is currently spending his vacation in the Aosta Valley in Northern Italy, near Mont Blanc.
