March 22, 2013. (Romereports.com)  Pope Francis celebrated Mass on Friday morning for the Vatican gardeners, sweepers and guards, at the chapel of Domus Sanctae Martae, where Cardinals stayed for the conclave.  


The Pope took his cue from John Paul II, who would often celebrate Mass at 7AM for invited groups. The day before, he invited the staff of Casa Santa Marta.

During Mass, the Pope gives a small, improvised homily, commenting on the Gospel of the day.
