Pope Francis met with them to thank them for their
work during the conclave.
Several journalists had the chance to greet the Pope personally, like Italian Alessandro Forlani, who is blind.

“I wanted, I thought of many things to tell him. But when I was before him, I was unable to say anything at all.”
Pope Francis and the guide dog named Asia helped Alessandro when he was rendered speechless.

“The Pope asked me, 'what's your name, what do you do?' FLASH 1:04 “And then I asked him if he could give a special blessing for my daughter, for my wife and he did. And then he thought about my dog saying, 'and one for the dog,' He reached down and patted my dog.”
Argentine journalists also took advantage. Father Javier, who worked with the Pope back home, gave him a hug.

“I showed him a picture of the sick baby of one of the journalists here. He asked me, 'what's her name?' I answered that I didn't know. 'I will pray for her,' he said. He took the photo and I'm sure he will pray a lot of that person.”
Other journalists also thanked the Pope for his advice to seek beauty, truth and kindness.

He told me, 'I suggest that all three together because beauty alone is not enough, kindness alone is not enough, and truth alone is not enough.”
Polish journalist Ryszard Kapuscinski wrote that to be a journalist, above all, one has to be a good human being. Today the Pope distinguished between believers and non-believers, but thanked and blessed them the same for their efforts.
