YoutubeSeptember 12, 2012. (Romereports.com) Benedict XVI returned from his summer residence to the Vatican so that he could deliver the general audience. Benedict XVI continued his catechesis on prayer, this time dedicated to the second part of the Apocalypse. He recalled the different ways that God has intervened in history, something he noted that helps face life with confidence.

BENEDICT XVI
“We see that Christ’s final victory over sin and death is the key to all history.  While giving thanks for this victory, we continue to beg God’s grace for our earthly journey.”

From the image of the great assembly gathered to pray, as shown in the second part of the Apocalypse, the Pope invited Christians to come together to celebrate the Eucharist.

BENEDICT XVI
“Prayer enables us to discern the events of history in the light of God’s plan for the spread of his Kingdom. ”

Among the 7,500 in the audience, there was also a group of journalists in attendance from several countries. The group is visiting Rome to attend a conference on covering the Catholic Church as journalists.

BENEDICT XVI
“I am pleased to greet the participants in the Communications Seminar sponsored by the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross”.

After the audience, Benedict XVI returned to Castel Gandolfo where he is preparing for his three day trip to Lebanon on Friday.
