Pope meets with president of Montenegro to ratify bi-national agreement

YoutubeJune 21, 2012. (Romereports.com)(-ONLY VIDEO-) On Thursday morning, the Pope met with the president of Montenegro, Filip Vujanovic at the Vatican. The meeting held place to officially ratify an agreement between the Holy See and Montenegro.

The agreement which was signed in 2011, recognizes the juridical status of the Catholic Church in that country. It also highlights freedom of worship and “freedom of action” in education, culture, pastoral care and charity.

Montenegro declared its independence back in 2006. During their meeting,  president Vujanovic, also thanked  the Holy See for following the progress of the country, including its attempt to reach full European integration.
