November 8, 2012. (Romereports.com) The Pope met with members of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, which is a group of scientists and experts who are responsible for advising the Pope on issues related to science.
Every year, they all get together at their Vatican office to discuss different topics.
This time around, their annual meeting dealt with the Complexity and Analogy in Science. Including the theoretical, methodological and epistemological aspects.
BENEDICT XVI“In your discussions, you have sought to examine, on the one hand, the ongoing dialectic of the constant expansion of scientific research methods and specializations and, on the other, the quest for a comprehensive vision of this universe in which human beings, endowed with intelligence and freedom are called to understand, love, live and work.”The Pope also added that only humans can expand their knowledge to understand the truth. But above all, they have a responsibility to practice it wisely for the sake of the environment. The Pontifical Academy of Sciences is located inside the Vatican. Its members come from all over the world and are considered some of the best in the field. Among its members are several Nobel Prize winners.
