November 8, 2012. (Romereports.com) The 7.4 earthquake that struck Guatemala on Wednesday caused at least 50 deaths and wounded more than 150 people. In fact, the quake was so strong, it was also felt in parts of Mexico and El Salvador. In addition to causing extensive damage to property buildings, dozens of people are still missing.
In response, Benedict XVI sent a message to Guatemala, assuring the victims and their families that they are all in his prayers. He also calls on Christians, so that along with the country's authorities, they may together, provide adequate assistance to those affected.
