October 26, 2011. (Romereports.com) The pope remembered the victims of Turkey's  7.2 magnitude earthquake, which left at least 461 people dead and more than 1,300 missing.

“I invite you to join me in praying for those who have lost their lives. I invite you to be spiritually close to these people who have been hit hard. May the Almighty sustain all those involved in relief efforts.”

The main international Catholic charity called 'Caritas' already sent a team to Van, Turkey. For now, the group has already sent 1,200 sleeping bags and its in the process of sending more bedding and other items to help those in need.
