YoutubeMarch 19, 2012. (Romereports.com) During the Angelus, Benedict XVI explained that to be closer to God, one needs to recognize personal mistakes. He called for Catholics to practice the Sacrament of Confession, especially now, during Lent.

Benedict XVI
“As we continue on our way, we keep our eyes fixed upon our goal, when we will accompany our Lord on the path to Calvary, so as to rise with Him to new life.”

In addition, he thanked everyone who prayed for him on the feast day of St. Joseph, which is celebrated on Monday. He also asked people to pray for his coming trip to Mexico and Cuba.

Benedict XVI
“I ask prayers for my forthcoming apostolic trip to Mexico and Cuba, where I will have the joy of traveling in a few days to confirm the faith of the Christians of these beloved nations and all of Latin America.”

Among the thousands who gathered for the Pope's Angelus, there was a group of Mexican priests from Mexico's Pontifical College in Rome. The group didn't hesitate to show its excitement over the Pope's coming trip to Mexico and Cuba.
