Pope Benedict XVI received Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia
Tymoshenko in his library.
Tymoshenko said the visit was extremely
important to her and Ukraine.
The discussions between the two were cordial
and focused on the contributions the Catholic Church, of both rites, has made
to Ukrainian society.
Ukraine is a country with a population of
nearly 47 million people, nearly 5 million of them are baptized Catholics.
