Ispettorato di Sicurezza, the Italian body that tasked with the
Pope's security, as well as his visitors, outside of the Vatican walls.

“It's a privilege to be close by to protect you, to guarantee the safety of these structures, needed to propose your Magisterium, and to protect also millions of pilgrims from all corners of the Earth who come to visit and listen to your word.”
Benedict XVI thanked their work to provide security at St. Peter's Square and the the Vatican, which see thousand of visitors daily.
The Pope recalled that mankind's calling is for peace and that the officers' role is essential for society. He adds that their work must be enriched in faith.

The Ispettorato gave the Pope a crystal sculpture of a ship, as a symbol of the Church during the Year of Faith.
