September 19, 2011. (Romereports.com) Talking before hundreds of pilgrims at Castel Gandolfo, the pope reflected on how Jesus compares the Kingdom of Heaven to the actions of a landowner, who is generous with all the workers in his vineyard.
Benedict XVI
"Perhaps at times we may feel envious of the success of others or feel that we have not been sufficiently thanked for our service".
"May we always strive to be humble servants of the Lord and rejoice when God bestows abundant graces on those around us.”
The pope recognized the work of individual people, families and communities who work in the vineyard of the Lord, so to speak. He also highlighted the need to re-discover faith through the 'new evangelization.'
Benedict XVI
"The Gospel has transformed the world, and it's still transforming it. It's like a river that irrigates a massive field. Let us pray to the Virgin Mary, so that the entire Church can grow in vocations for priests, religious and the laity, so they can all work in spreading the new evangelization.”
Just days before taking off on his four day trip to Germany, pope Benedict XVI asked for everyone's prayers as he goes back to visit his native country. His trip will run from September 22nd to the 25th.
