July 23, 2012. (Romereports.com)(-ONLY VIDEO-) The Pope's butler, Paolo Gabriele is now under house arrest. He's waiting for the Vatican's Judicial System, to decide whether his involvement in the Vatileaks case will go to trial.
Judge Pier Antonio Bonet, is expected to announce the decision in just a few days.
The butler was in a Vatican prison cell for 60 days. But since July 21st, he has been under house arrest inside his residence, which is within Vatican State territory. There, he lives with his wife and two children.
At this point, his activities are monitored, but according to the Vatican's spokesperson, he has access to “medical assistance, spiritual help, visits and he may attend Mass accompanied.”
Months ago, the Pope's butler was arrested, while carrying confidential Vatican documents.
If the Vatican decides to go ahead with a trial, the Pope's butler could face between one and six years in prison.
