March 18, 2012. (Romereports.com) Pope Benedict XVI gathered with over twenty thousand pilgrims in St. Peter's Square to deliver his general audience. His catechesis focused on the prayer from the Acts of the Apostles, when
after the arrest and release of Peter and John, the community gathers together in prayer.Benedict XVI
“This prayer shows the unity of the early community, which asks only to proclaim the word of God fearlessly in the face of persecution. It seeks to discern present events in the light of God’s saving plan and the fulfillment of prophecy in the mystery of Christ.”
The month of April also marks the election of Benedict XVI as pope. The anniversary was not lost on many of the pilgrims who sent their best wishes to the pontiff.
