April 26, 2012. (Romereports.com) Since the beatification of John Paul II is one of the biggest events ROME REPORTS has covered, we want to celebrate the anniversary with style, by giving out prizes to our viewers and re-living this great day through social networks.
A day before the big ceremony, we were the first to see the statue of John Paul II, as it decorated Via della Conciliazione for a few hours.
Then we went to Rome's Circo Massimo, to take part in a unique vigil with John Paul II's former secretary, spokesperson, and the nun who was miraculously cured through the intercession of the great Pope.
We followed the journey, by spending the night at St. Peter's Square, to capture the first images of pilgrims who camped out to get the best spot. And together, we all heard the words Benedict XVI said as he beatified John Paul II.
