
June 18, 2012. (Romereports.com)(-ONLY VIDEO-) Spain's new ambassador to the Vatican, Eduardo Gutiérrez Sáenz de Buruaga presented his letters of credence to Benedict XVI. The ambassador introduced his wife, Carmen Seoane García, to the Pope along with the staff from the Spanish embassy.
Afterward he met with Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, and visited St. Peter's Basilica.Spain is the country that actually holds the longest standing diplomatic relations with the Vatican.
Sáenz de Buruaga is replacing Maria Jesús Figa, who served as ambassador for just over one year. She has now been named Spain's Ambassador to Finland.
