October 26, 2012. (Romereports.com) Spain's wealthiest man,
Amancio Ortega, has donated 20 million euros to Catholic Charity 'Caritas.'
The Amancio Ortega Foundation signed the agreement to promote the common good including health care, education and food supply for Spanish families that need it the most. These programs have been essential in helping the unemployed and their families.
According to Spain's latest labor report, more than 5.5 million people are without work. According to its annual report,
in 2011 Caritas' expenses reached 250 million euros. That includes housing programs, health programs, work and education. More than 65 percent of that money came from private donations.
In that same year, assistance was given to roughly 6 million people. From that group, 1.8 million people were Spaniards.
