Spanish Cardinal of Valencia dies in Rome

YoutubeMay 1, 2011. (Romereports.com) Spanish Cardinal Agustin García-Gasco, Archbishop of Valencia, died Sunday in Rome. He was visiting the city for the beatification of John Paul II.

The 80 year old Cardinal died of a heart attack. According to published reports, the cardinal was planning on taking part in the beatification ceremony. When he didn't arrive, his aids went to check on him at the “Laborers of the Cross” residence where he apparently passed away.

García Gasco was born on February 12th, 1931. He became a seminarian of Madrid-Alcalá in 1944. He became an ordained priest in 1956 in the city of Madrid.
