October 27, 2009. The website dedicated to the Shroud of Turin just got a makeover.
Sindone.org has been revamped to offer visitors more information on the shroud and details on pilgrimages to Turin to see the Shroud next year.
The site features everything you need to know if you’re travelling to Turin for the exhibit, like dates and times, videos and pictures, and a bit of history on the shroud.
The Holy Shroud, or Shroud of Turin, is one of the most studied objects in the world. It’s a linen cloth that bears the marks that match those of Jesus’ passion. And for centuries, it’s been venerated as the authentic shroud used to cover Jesus after his Crucifixion.
The Holy Shroud will be on display from April 10 through May 23 or 2010 at the Cathedral of Turin in northern Italy.
The pope is also expected to visit the shroud as are thousands of pilgrims who for the first time will see the shroud after treatments for its conservation were made to it in 2002.
