November 1, 2011. (Romereports.com) Now open in U.S. theaters is “The Mighty Macs,” based on true story of a
girls basketball team from the Immaculata College. Coach Cathy Rush
takes over a failing team and has to fight women's stereotypes in order
to recruit new members.
It's a story of faith and sports. At the center of which is a woman that
broke the statu quo. She was later recognized for her work with her
introduction into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
The film stars Carla Gugino as Cathy Rush and Academy Award and Tony Award winner Ellen Burstyn as Mother St. John.
