Highlighting the example of St. John Eudes, the Pope said that priests can offer an authentic witness of Christ's love.

“It is a good starting point for an authentic reform of a priest s life and apostolate, and it is also a key area for the new evangelization, something which should be more than just an attractive slogan, but something translated into reality“.Benedict XVI stressed the importance of the years of seminary formation noting that it is a time to be with God after having responded to his call, and before beginning the pastoral tasks entrusted to them.
The Pope called on the faithful to help priests with their prayers.
