Twenty-four killed during Christian protest in Egypt

YoutubeOctober 10, 2011. (Romereports.com) A protest by a group of Egyptian Christians escalated into a night of violence as different groups clashed with the military. Reports show that 24 people were killed and over 200 wounded in the worst episode of violence since the Egyptian revolution last February.

The protest began over a recent attack on a church in Egypt but soon turned into a mass protest against the military government.

The violence wasn't necessarily a case of Muslim vs Christian. There were reports of Muslims flooding the street to support the Christian protest as well as reports of Muslims arriving to support the military government, which has seen a surge in Islamist power.
