November 7, 2012. (Romereports.com) The U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See is leaving Rome and heading back to the United States. To mark his departure, he briefly met with the Pope to say his farewell. Miguel Diaz was born in Cuba. He was appointed back in 2009, as the first Hispanic to represent the U.S at the Vatican.
Now that his term has come to a close, on November 16th he will start a
new chapter as a Professor of Faith and Culture at University of Dayton
in Ohio.
Diaz, who is Catholic, is a Theologian. Before being
an ambassador he taught theology at the College of Saint Benedict and
St. John's University in Minnesota.
