June 12, 2012. (Romereports.com) Every day about 60,000 receive an e mail just like this one. It's part
of the Vatican Information Service bulletin, commonly referred to as the
'VIS.' The e-mail includes a summary of the Pope's speeches. But on
September 1st, the so called VIS will no longer be sent. Instead, it
will be replaced with the 'Bollettino of the Sala Stampa Vaticana,'
which will be translated in four languages.
So instead of only being published in Italian, the official bulletin will also be in English, French and Spanish.
The change is a way to hopefully strengthen the Vatican's website,
www.news.va, which includes stories and information from all of the Vatican's media outlets, including TV, radio and of course the web.
