July 5, 2011. (Romereports.com) After three years of being in the red, the Vatican made a profit of 9.8 million euros for 2010, which is about 14.2 million dollars.
The Vatican press office released a statement saying their year revenue was 245.2 million euros and the Holy See expenses totaled 235.3 million.
The document also notes that donations fell from 18 percent, giving them a total of 67.7 million dollars.
However, the Vatican also holds stocks, bonds, and different real estate as a way to help when donations are low.
The Vatican Governorate is the body that runs Vatican City and it
separately had a net income of 21 million euros that jumped up due to a
recovery in financial markets and a higher number of visitors to the
Vatican Museums.
