YoutubeApril 6, 2012. (Romereports.com) The Holy Land is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the world. Every year millions of people come here to see and walk in the same places that Jesus once did two thousand years ago. But from now on it will not be necessary to travel to Jerusalem in order to visit every corner of the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre, a tour of the place where Jesus was buried after his crucifixion.

Through the web, a virtual pilgrim can now walk through the streets of Jerusalem even if they are thousands of miles away.

The website also has information on the path that Christ walked up to the Calvary, the excavations in the basilica, and the restoration process of the temple and documents by fourth century authors who wrote about the Holy Sepulchre.

Videos and texts also give a virtual tour of other biblical sites such as Nazareth, Bethlehem, Cana and Mount Tabor. There's even information on hotels if a visitor decides to make the virtual reality into reality. There is also profiles on Twitter and Facebook to follow the holy sites through social networks.

The site is managed by the Franciscans of the Holy Land. Their aim is to allow everyone the opportunity to better learn about one of the most sacred places in Christianity.
