May 24, 2010. There is a new way to join World Youth Day Madrid 2011.
In this message, seven youths, each from a different country, are encouraging others to volunteer with them at World Youth Day in Madrid.
The campaign was created by current World Youth Day volunteers. They hope to attract 20,000 volunteers.
Organizers expect 2 million participants and would like to have one volunteer for every 100 World Youth Day participants.
Volunteers will guide youths from train stations, bus stations and airports and give out information. They will also work with the media and translate documents.
Volunteers will provide logistics support in organizing events, accompanying authorities and coordinating groups.
In order to help World Youth Day participants make the most of their days in Madrid, volunteers will be provided with a course on Madrid’s art and culture.
World Youth Day organizers are looking for volunteers that are generous and are team players.
