April 17, 2011. (Romereports.com) Eight hundred university professors will be participating in a meeting with Benedict XVI on August 19 at the monastery of El Escorial. It's planned to be one of the main events of World Youth Day 2011 in Madrid.
The registration period ends on May 30. Candidates should be working as
full time university professors and be no more than 40 years old. They
must also have a doctorate degree and be signed up for WYD. Of the 800 who are chosen, it's expected that around 600 will be Spanish and the other 200 from other countries.
In Spain, registrations are processed through representatives of campus ministries or by the chaplains of the university. In the rest of the world, interested teachers must register through the episcopal conferences of their respective countries.
