Every World Youth Day leaves unforgettable moments. The one that took place back in 2011 in Madrid, was no exception.

Four years have passed and much has changed. It was the last World Youth Day led by Benedict XVI and the music sounded like this...

To mark the moment musically, World Youth Day's Symphonic Orquestra and WYD's Choir have released an album which translates to 'Music and Prayer.'

It includes the work of 148 musicians and 160 singers from Spain. They had to fine tune their voices, get everything right and of course, financing was another challenge.

MARINA MAKHMOUTOVA
Director, 'Music and Prayer'

'The quality of the choir is great now. In fact, in our next concert, which will take place on April 6th to celebrate Easter, we will play songs that are extremely challenging.'

Musicians and singers and even the artistic director agree-the time had to be just right to put forth their best work and their best tunes. This album will be their fourth.

BORJA QUINTAS
Artistic Director, 'Music and Prayer'

'The pride we feel for being part of this great musical family has been great. Since day one, I've felt a great sense of joy and satisfaction. After having worked with so many youth groups, I can say this one, has a special element to it.'

Over time, donations started coming in. Everything from five euros to 200. It was a process that was done entirely through crowd-funding. Now, the group is ready to share their record with the world.
