'A group from a village near Barcelona, Sant Vicení§ dels Horts, so a Catalan group, in love with Rome and the Pope. We wanted to spend a few days together in Italy, but especially in Rome.â?
Father Mateu accompanied them during their trip. It was a vacation but also an opportunity to deepen their faith.
'My mission as parish pastor is to serve my parishioners, help them in the way of the Gospel, and help especially the most needy. Unfortunately, today it is very urgent.â?
They visited the tomb of Padre Pio in the San Giovanni Rotondo and also made a pilgrimage to Assisi. But what they liked most was seeing Pope Francis.
'Well, what I liked most, and I think they agree, was when the Pope spoke to us about prayer, and how fathers and mothers must teach their small children, the bambinos, to make the Sign of the Cross...â?
They'll return to their village with memories of seeing the Pope, and dreams of getting to return to Rome.
